They have two Wichita Brewing Company restaurants and a giant brewing facility.

Now, Jeremy Horn and Greg Gifford, the owners of Wichita Brewing Company, are adding another business to their collection.

They just signed the lease to take over the old Asia Town Buffet space, which sits at 6160 E. Central, just in front of the east-side Wichita Brewing Company at 535 N. Woodlawn. They hope to have their new event venue, which they’ve yet to name, open by spring. It should have about 9,000 feet of space that can be used for weddings, corporate events, parties and more.

Horn says that WBC already caters dozens of weddings a year with its Hopperoni Express food truck. They decided the vacant building would give them a spot to cater and host at the same time. They’re even talking about adding a pizza oven in the space.

They plan to give the building an exterior a paint job and do some landscaping. They’ll turn the interior into a nice but neutral space that brides and event planners can decorate to their taste.

Horn estimates that the space will be able to hold parties of up to 500 people.

“There aren’t a lot of venues in that area of town outside of downtown,” Horn said. “You have to go to Andover before you see that much space.”
