A look at three new menues

1. Cafe Comotara, 2949 N. Rock Road: Ben Arnold's new lunch restaurant in the former Chelsea's space opened Wednesday, and the large menu features several salads, some pasta dishes (including Pad Thai), burgers, sandwiches and entrees such as ahi tuna, blue-cheese-crusted filet and a bone-in pork chop. 2. Bocconcini Italian Eatery, 4811 E. Central: Nathan Toubia's new restaurant in the former Sugar Sisters space also officially opened Wednesday and has a menu that includes homemade ravioli and pork saltimbocca, which features thin-sliced pork tenderloin topped with prosciutto di Parma in a Marsala sauce and served with polenta and broccoli rabe. 3. Boudreux Burger Barn, 1499 N. Meridian, Peck: This burger restaurant opened earlier this month in Peck, a town about six miles south of Haysville. It's owned by Dominic Bongiorni, a former oil refinery worker who "got tired of working in the heat" and decided to open a burger restaurant. He's serving mom-and-pop-style burgers plus hand-cut fries, chicken-fried steaks, chicken strips and more. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. QUICK BITES

Press won't press on

Press, the wine and cocktail bar that local restaurateur Melad Stephan opened at the Waterfront late last year, will close at the end of business on Aug. 6. Stephan says he has three potential bidders on the remainder of his lease, all of whom plan some type of bistro, restaurant or bar.

Alfresco's new date

Botanica Alfresco, a fundraiser featuring food, cocktails and music that originally was scheduled for 7 p.m. today, has been moved to a less heat-dome-affected time of year. The outdoor event has been moved to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 23 at Botanica, 701 Amidon. Tickets are $100. Make reservations by calling 316-264-0448 or by visiting www.botanica.org.

Lebanese cooking

Michael Bayouth is honoring the one-year anniversary of the death of his mother, Julia, by ordering another printing of her famous recipe booklet, " Our Favorite Lebanese Recipes." The booklet is a compilation of Lebanese recipes put together by Julia and her sister, Helen Jabara, more than 35 years ago when both were congregants at St. George Orthodox Cathedral. It has sold thousands of copies through the years and is available again for $2.50 at Jabara Carpet Outlet, 1816 N. Broadway, or by calling Michael at 316-686-5104.
