Wichita Riverfest reveals its musical acts for 2020
The Wichita Riverfest on Wednesday afternoon revealed what concerts it hopes will draw crowds to the annual event when its staged May 29-June 6 in downtown Wichita.
As has become its tradition over the past few years, the staff slowly rolled out the concert announcement through a series of Tweets and Instagram and Facebook posts.
Several big-name acts are on the roster, and admission to all the shows will be a Wichita Riverfest button.
Hip hop star Shaggy, known for songs like “It Wasn’t Me” and “Angel,” is set to perform on Saturday, May 30, on the festival’s main stage on Kennedy Plaza.
Hip hop trip De La Soul, known for the song “Me Myself and I,” will headline the final night of the festival on June 6.
English rock band The Struts also are on the bill and will perform a main stage show on June 4, along with punk rockers The Regrettes.
Concerts will happen on the main Riverfest stage on Kennedy Plaza and on a south stage near the Wichita WaterWalk.
Adult Riverfest buttons, for ages 13 and up, will be available for $7 during an online pre-sale happening now at WichitaRiverfest2020.eventbrite.com. The buttons will be available for in-person purchasing at the early-bird price from April 10 to May 2 at Meineke Car Care Centers. Starting May 3, the button price will go up to $10 and they’ll be available at area QuikTrip stores. Buttons for ages 6-12 are $5, and children ages 5 and younger will be admitted for free.
