Kansas State Fair snags a famous one-named hip-hop star for 2020 grandstand concert
Rap and hip hop artist Nelly — he of the 2002 ear worm hit “Hot in Herre” — has been added to the Kansas State Fair list of grandstand acts.
The performer, also known for hits like “Ride Wit Me” and “Country Grammar,” will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Kansas State Fair’s grandstand. His opening act will be “X-Factor” contestant Willie Jones.
Tickets will be on sale at 8 a.m. on Friday, and the fair’s ticket office in Hutchinson will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. that day for those who want to buy tickets in person or over the phone. Those interested in getting tickets two days earlier, on Wednesday, can sign up for the fair’s email list at http://bit.ly/KSFNellyPresale. Tickets will cost $25-$65 and will include fair admission if purchased by Aug. 15.
Nelly, a three-time Grammy winner, also performed at Wichita’s Cotillion Ballroom over the summer.
