The Lemurs scored two runs in each of the first three innings on their way to beating the Wingnuts 6-2 on Saturday night in Laredo, Texas, and ending Wichita’s eight-game winning streak.

LAredo’s Denis Phipps hit a two-run homer off Jason Van Skike in the first inning. Errors by the Wingnuts played a part in the second- and third-inning runs.

Josh Strawn help Wichita’s offense in check, limiting the Wingnuts to single runs in the third and seventh.

Earlier Saturday the Wingnuts added closer Dan Sattler to the bullpen in a trade with St. Paul on the final day before American Association playoff rosters had to be set. Sattler, who is 3-4 with 19 saves and a 1.80 ERA, was acquired for the rights to Matt Nevarez, the Wingnuts’ closer who recently signed a deal with the Pirates organization.

Sattler, 30, played part of the 2012 season in the Twins organization and was pitching in Triple-A before an elbow injury required surgery.
