Tulsa beats FC Wichita
FC Wichita’s first chance to clinch the NPSL South Central Conference title did not end well.
Tulsa scored the tie-breaking goal in the opening minutes of the second half and beat FC Wichita 2-1 on Friday night in Tulsa. The loss ended Wichita’s seven-game winning streak, and left FC Wichita one point behind Corinthians FC in the conference standings.
Tulsa took a 1-0 lead with an early first-half goal, and Wichita tied the score in the 20th minute on a goal by David Lucio.
FC Wichita concludes the season with a game against Fort Worth FC at 5:05 p.m. Sunday at the Stryker Complex. Corinthians has already completed its season. A win or a tie on Sunday will give FC Wichita the conference title.
The conference champion earns a spot in the NPSL South Region semifinals.
