Who’s the best mascot in the NCAA? Hint: He wears black and yellow
Thanks to the votes of Wichita State fans, WuShock was crowned the best mascot in the country Monday morning in an online challenge at CollegeCourtReport.com.
In September, 68 mascots were chosen and assigned randomly in a bracket identical to the NCAA Tournament. Each week fans voted online and through social media. Wichita State’s WuShock defeated “Bill,” the mascot for Navy in “convincing fashion,” according to the website.
“Through a steady support on social media, Wichita State fans came out in flocks to show their support for their beloved mascot,” College Court Report wrote, later calling Wichita State fans “an unstoppable force.”
En route to the title, WuShock knocked off Northern Kentucky’s “Victor E. Viking,” Louisiana-Lafayette’s “Cayenne,” Wisconsin’s “Bucky Badger,” Butler’s “Butler Blue III,” Missouri State’s “Boomer,” and Navy’s “Bill.”
