Kansas State has picked up its second basketball commitment for the 2017 recruiting class.

Nigel Shadd, a 6-foot-9, 225-pound power forward from Chandler, Ariz,, orally committed to the Wildcats Sunday night, announcing his decision on Twitter.

“I am proud to say I will continue my athletic and academic career at Kansas State University,” he wrote.

Rivals rates Shadd as a three-star prospect. He chose K-State over a number of small schools, including Northern Colorado, Loyola (Chicago), Pacific and Weber State.

He joins Mike McGuirl, a three-star guard, as the second member of K-State’s 2017 class.
