Driver charged in KCK incident that injured four teens posts bond

A Wyandotte County political candidate facing charges for allegedly hitting four teenagers with her car was released from jail Monday after posting bond.

Wyandotte County prosecutors charged Tamika Pledger on Sunday with four counts of reckless aggravated battery.

She was released from custody Monday after posting a $50,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on the charges Feb. 10.

One of the four teens remained hospitalized Monday in critical condition, according to Kansas City, Kan., police. The three others were less seriously injured, police said.

They were injured Friday afternoon when a Mercedes sedan allegedly driven by Pledger struck them in the 1300 block of Troup Avenue.

Pledger, 38, is running for the county commission seat vacated by Mark Holland when he was elected mayor.
