Kansas City police are investigating gunfire that struck a Genesis School bus about 3 p.m. Wednesday near 24th Street and Olive Avenue.

None of the 27 children on the bus was hurt when one bullet hit the bus near its roof line, police said.

Police said they took two persons into custody but a third person remained at large.

The shooting occurred near Attucks Elementary School at 24th Street and Prospect Avenue. The school, which still had classes going on, went on lock down.

The Genesis bus was not targeted but was in a line of fire between parties shooting at each other, police said.
