AG’s office to hold free open government training

The Kansas Attorney General’s Office next week is holding three free public training sessions on the state’s open records and open meetings laws, including one in the Wichita area.

Space is limited and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve a spot, go to www.ag.ks.gov/open-gov or call 785-296-2215.

Attorneys in Attorney General Derek Schmidt’s office will conduct the meetings, Schmidt said. Panel speakers include Kansas Sunshine Coalition members, local government officials and media representatives.

The meetings are:

▪ 1-4 p.m. Monday at Jordaan Memorial Library, 724 Broadway in Larned.

▪ 9 a.m.-noon on Aug. 17 at Mulvane Public Library, 408 N. Second St. in Mulvane.

▪ 9 a.m.-noon on Aug. 19 at Memorial Hall Auditorium, 120 SW 10th St. in Topeka.
