This dog was saved by police from a burning apartment. He now has a name to prove it
A dog who was saved by police officers as an abandoned apartment was engulfed in flames now has a name to prove it.
The dog – now named Smokey – was pulled to safety, wrapped in a coat and given oxygen by emergency medical technicians, as seen in body camera footage by the Atlanta Police Department.
“We are so incredibly proud of the compassion and love our officers showed for this animal, thank you,” the department posted on Facebook. “We also thank the firefighters with Atlanta Fire Rescue and Grady’s emergency responders for helping save Smokey.”
Smokey is now available for adoption at Fulton County Animal Services.
