The Maize school board on Feb. 9 approved the termination of the district’s technology director, who has been on administrative leave since November, when federal agents executed a search warrant at district headquarters.

Maize superintendent Doug Powers said the board voted 7-0 to confirm the proposed termination of Ramon Mosate.

Powers would not say why Mosate, 49, was fired.

“The reason of termination is an employment issue, so we’re unable to comment on that,” he said.

Last week, Powers would neither confirm nor deny that Mosate’s leave was related to an FBI investigation involving Maize schools.

On Nov. 18, federal agents executed a search warrant at Maize district headquarters. Following that search, two employees were placed on administrative leave, and officials reset passwords for family accounts in its Skyward student information system.

Clark Fichtl, who has served as interim director of technology since November, was named as Mosate’s replacement Monday.
