Armed robbery reported at east Wichita Kwik Shop

An east Wichita convenience store was robbed early Saturday morning, officials said.

Officers responded to a robbery at the Kwik Shop in the 4800 block of East 21st Street, near Oliver, around 3:20 a.m. Saturday, said Wichita police Sgt. Joe Kennedy. The man was armed with a handgun and demanded money from two employees and a customer, Kennedy said.

The suspect stole an unknown amount of cash, cigarettes and cigars from the store, as well as a small amount of cash from the customer, Kennedy said. He then ran south from the store. No one was injured.
