A Wichita man said two male strangers forced their way into his apartment near downtown on Friday and stole his brindle-colored pit bull, said Wichita police.

The 53-year-old dog owner called police at about 9 a.m. Friday and said that two men knocked on the door of his apartment in the 100 block of South Kansas. When he answered, they pushed their way in, demanded the dog and threatened to hurt him. They left with the dog in a green Saturn SUV, the owner said.

No one was injured, police said.

Police gave these descriptions of the suspects: one man was white, in his 50s, 6-foot-2-inches tall and weighed 220 pounds; the second man also was white, 20 to 30 years old, 5-foot-11-inches tall and weighed 180 pounds.
