Someone made off with more than $1,000 worth of the Blue Man Group’s costumes late Tuesday night or Wednesday morning at Century II, Wichita police Sgt. Nikki Woodrow said.

The stolen items included a towel and several outfits, Woodrow said Wednesday.

The theft was discovered Wednesday at Century II, 225 W. Douglas. The Blue Man Group was in town for two nights of shows.

“Nobody saw anybody,” Woodrow said. “They just realized at noon yesterday that the property was taken.”

Police released an image Thursday afternoon on Twitter and Facebook of the person who is suspected of taking the costumes. Anyone who has any information about the person is asked to call 316-268-4136.

A review of security camera footage showed the suspect followed a Century II worker though an employee entrance and then walked around Century II for about two hours, Woodrow said.

The suspect eventually gained access to where the Blue Man Group’s costumes were, loaded up a laundry basket and walked out.

“I don’t think the Blue Man Group was a target,” Woodrow said.

The investigation is in its early stages and police would welcome any assistance from the public.

“If anybody sees any blue men running around, call 911,” Woodrow said, jokingly.
