Police investigate drive-by shooting near Ninth and West Street

Wichita police are investigating a reported drive-by shooting that happened early Sunday in the 3500 block of West Del Sienno, near Ninth and West Street.

A 36-year-old woman called 911 shortly after 5 a.m. Sunday to report she had been wakened by a gunshot, said Wichita police Sgt. Steve Yarberry.

There were several people inside the residence at the time, he said, ranging in age from 10 to 36 years old.

A bullet hole was found in the front door of the house, Yarberry said.

No injuries were reported. Police have no description of suspects.
