Wichita police arrest man after gunshot nearly hits baby

Wichita

A 32-year-old man fired a gun on the ground Sunday morning – nearly hitting a 4-month-old girl – in south Wichita, police said.

The incident occurred in the 1600 block of East Del Mar at about 9:30 a.m., near Hydraulic and MacArthur Road.

Police said the man then pointed the gun at his 19-year-old stepdaughter and a 22-year-old man.

No one was injured, and the man was arrested and booked on aggravated endangerment of a child, two counts of aggravated assault, and domestic violence, Wichita police Lt. James Espinoza said.
