Student arrested in El Dorado school threat
An El Dorado High School student was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of making threats of violence against the school.
The school was placed in lockdown Monday after the threats were received.
The student is a minor and the name will not be released, according to a statement released Wednesday afternoon by El Dorado school superintendent Sue Givens.
“We are thankful to students and parents for their diligence in monitoring social media and promptly reporting any threats to school safety or to the disruption of the educational process,” the release said. “Special thanks to local, county, state and regional law enforcement agencies as well as EHS administration, staff and district school resource officers for maintaining student safety.”
