Man in critical condition after suspected robbery near 21st and I-135
A man was shot during an apparent robbery at his house in northeast Wichita early Wednesday morning, authorities said.
The shooting was reported at about 12:15 a.m. Wednesday in the 2000 block of North Minnesota, a Sedgwick County dispatcher said. That’s just southeast of 21st and I-135.
A woman called to say her neighbor had knocked on her front door and asked for help, saying he had been shot during a robbery.
The 38-year-old man was taken to a local hospital with multiple gunshot wounds, including one to his chest, Lt. James Espinoza said. He is in critical condition, Espinoza said.
The victim said two men came into his house and stole cash from him, then shot him.
“It’s unclear how they got in,” Espinoza said.
The victim was unable to give a description beyond the fact that they were two men he did not know.
