Police arrest man in shooting near Harry and Webb
A 23-year-old man was released from the hospital Tuesday after being injured in a drug-related shooting that afternoon, police said.
Wichita police found the injured man at his apartment complex in the 1100 block of South Webb at about 3:30 p.m.
The man was at home when a 22-year-old woman brought two men to meet him. While inside the apartment, one of those men pulled a handgun, pointed it at a 20-year-old man, then shot the 23-year-old one time in the leg, Officer Charley Davidson said.
The woman and the two men left the area in a car. The relationship between the woman and injured man wasn’t immediately known Wednesday.
Davidson said later in the night, police arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of aggravated battery with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Jail records show that Dayton M. Wiederstein was booked just before midnight in that case.
Police have identified the other man who was with Wiederstein and the investigation is ongoing, Davidson said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 316-268-4407.
