This year’s theme for Donna Sweet’s HIV and AIDS benefit party this year is Disco Donna’s Friday Night Fever.

Donna Sweet is a physician and professor for the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita. She hosts a party in the backyard of her home each year to raise money for HIV and AIDS patients.

The event includes food and beverages, Popeye’s Chicken, music, a photo booth and live and silent auctions.

The party will take place Sept. 23 beginning at 5 p.m. until dusk at #6 Crestview Lakes, but guests can park at 21st and Oliver to take a free trolly to the party.

The invite says disco attire is encouraged but not expected and a $25 donation per person is suggested. The proceeds go to the Sweet Emergency Fund, which provides critical care and medication for those living with HIV who are unable to pay for treatment.

Consumer’s Pharmacy and Wichita Nephrology Group helped sponsor the event.

Mail donations can be sent to The Sweet Emergency Fund at KU School of Medicine-Wichita MPA, 1010 N. Kansas, Suite 3034, Wichita, KS 67214.
