Man hit by car while crossing Harry on foot
A man is in critical condition after being struck by a car while attempting to cross Harry Street on Thursday, Wichita police said.
Police Lt. Paul Duff said that around 7 p.m. the man, along with two other individuals, was crossing Harry from north to south around Elpyco Street, when a westbound Nissan sedan struck him.
That’s just east of Harry and Oliver.
Duff said police think the driver did not see the man.
The man, who a Sedgwick County emergency dispatcher said was around 30 years old, was taken to Wesley Medical Center in critical condition.
Police have been talking with the driver of the sedan, who remained on the scene, Duff said.
Police are investigating the incident.
