Sedgwick County to give away free HIV tests Tuesday

The Sedgwick County Health Department will offer free HIV tests Tuesday for World AIDS Day.

Anyone can receive a free HIV test from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sedgwick County STD Clinic, 2716 W. Central.

The clinic will offer conventional tests and rapid HIV tests.

The theme of this year’s World AIDS Day is “The Time to Act Is Now.” About one in eight people who have HIV are unaware of their infection.

With early diagnosis, people can receive treatment and stop the spread of HIV to other partners.
