Police: Naked man attacks security guard at Southlake Village Apartments
A 61-year-old female security guard is recovering in a Wichita hospital after she was attacked by a 20-year-old naked man who was possibly under the influence of LSD at the time, according to Wichita police.
The security guard responded to residents’ complaints early Sunday at the Southlake Village Apartments at 4141 S. Seneca. Residents were complaining at 6 a.m. Sunday of noises and a disturbance between the complex buildings, said Sgt. Roger Runft, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.
When the guard went to investigate, she was confronted by the 20-year-old nude man who was acting in an irrational manner, Runft said. The man immediately attacked the woman, punched her to the ground and began kicking her multiple times.
Upon hearing the security guard’s screams for help, residents called 911, Runft said. When officers arrived at the apartment complex, they found the naked man.
Both the guard and the man were taken to the hospital. The woman was being treated for multiple facial injuries and a possible concussion.
Because of the man’s behavior and statements he made, Runft said, officers think the man may have been suffering from a possible LSD overdose. Detectives are reviewing the case, he said.
