Boy, 3, in critical condition after dog bites him in face

A 3-year-old boy is in critical condition after being bitten in the face by a dog late Tuesday afternoon, a Sedgwick County dispatcher said.

Emergency Medical Services units were called to Village Park at Barclay Square, in the 500 block of West Central, at 4:40 p.m., the dispatcher said.

The boy was transported in critical condition to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis.

By 5:45 p.m., police officers had left the scene, the dispatcher said.
