Car fire snarls West Kellogg

Motorists who rely on westbound Kellogg for their commute home may want to find an alternate route on Friday.

A car fire at West Street has backed traffic all the way up to the Central Business District. The fire was reported at 2:50 p.m., a Sedgwick County emergency dispatch supervisor said. No injuries were reported.

Authorities have been able to open one lane to traffic, the supervisor said, but traffic flow is still just a crawl. Drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes and avoid the area.
