TV Picks for Sept. 28-Oct. 4
DON’T MISS: “The Simpsons” & “Family Guy” – Woo-hoo! The first families of TV animation launch their seasons in rousing style this week. First, on “The Simpsons,” a familiar character bites the dust. An hour later, “The Simpsons” and “Family Guy” join comedic forces for a crossover extravaganza that has the Griffins accidentally winding up in Springfield, where they’re befriended by Homer, Marge and company. 7 p.m. “The Simpsons,” 8 p.m. “Family Guy,” Sunday, Fox
OTHER BETS:
SUNDAY: They just couldn’t let it go. Producers of “Once Upon a Time” jump on the “Frozen” bandwagon with a chilling storyline inspired by Anna (Elizabeth Lail), Elsa (Georgina Haig) and the box-office blockbuster. 7 p.m., ABC
MONDAY: Season 6 of “NCIS: Los Angeles” picks up with Sam (LL Cool J) and Callen (Chris O’Donnell) trapped in that armed submarine. Will it go ka-boom? Probably not with them in it. 9 p.m., CBS
TUESDAY: Loosely based on “My Fair Lady,” “Selfie” introduces us to Eliza Dooley (Karen Gillan), a self-obsessed, social media addict who wants to “rebrand” her image. Enter a marketing whiz (John Cho), who becomes her coach and potential love interest. 7 p.m., ABC
WEDNESDAY: You might want to watch “Stalker” with the lights on. It’s a creepy new series pegged to a special LAPD unit that investigates stalking cases. Maggie Q and Dylan McDermott star. 9 p.m., CBS
THURSDAY: In “Gracepoint,” David Tennant and Anna Gunn play cops assigned to a murder case that shatters the calm of a small coastal town in Northern California. 8 p.m., Fox
FRIDAY: In the Season 4 opener of “Last Man Standing,” Eve (Kaitlyn Dever) gives the boot to gender stereotypes as the first female kicker on her school’s football team. 7 p.m., ABC
SATURDAY: LeBron James is among the producers of the new sitcom “Survivor’s Remorse.” It’s about a young basketball phenom (Jessie T. Usher) who confronts the rewards – and pitfalls – of stardom. 8 p.m., Starz
