Wichita teen running for governor appears on ‘Kimmel’

Jack Bergeson, 16, appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Wednesday night to speak about his candidacy for governor of Kansas.

Bergeson, a junior at the Independent School, was interviewed via video from his home in Wichita.

“One of the major things I want is to get kids involved in politics,” Bergeson told Kimmel when asked about his motivation for running.

Kimmel asked whether the teen had any proverbial skeletons in his closet, which Bergeson denied. Closing the interview, Kimmel said he would have thought just a few years ago that Bergeson’s goal was impossible, but his perspective has changed.

“It might even be probable that you’ll be the next governor of Kansas,” Kimmel said.
