The Kansas State Fair set a record for attendance this year, officials said on Thursday, beating the previous record by more than 7,500 visitors.

Midway ride and game operators said they set a revenue record, too.

Attendance at this year’s fair was 369,322, officials said. The previous record of 361,647 attendees was set in 1995. Midway revenue also was up by 8.1 percent from 2014, which was a record-setting growth year.

Fair managers say pleasant weather and a strong concert lineup likely contributed to the numbers. The fair took place Sept. 11-20 on the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson. Next year’s fair is set for Sept. 9-18.
