Wichita’s first PepperJax Grill is almost – but not quite – ready

The sign is up, and the people are hungry.

But Wichita’s first PepperJax Grill at 2616 N. Maize Road isn’t quite ready to open.

A few weeks ago, a spokeswoman said that the new PepperJax should open on July 13, which is Wednesday. But it’s likely going to be more like late July or early August, a marketing manager said this week. The restaurant is going into the former Cinnamon’s Deli space and is in the same strip center as Five Guys Burgers and Fries.

The Omaha-based chain, which serves Philly cheese steak sandwiches and more, also is planning a second location at 3130 N. Rock Road, tentatively scheduled to open later this year.
