West Wichita bar and grill appears to be closed... again
It looks like Bucks Bar & Grill is closed again.
A reader wrote to me this week to ask why the restaurant at 1014 N West St. was closed. I called several times on Monday during normal hours and got an answering machine. Messages I left on the machine were not returned.
And a sign posted on the door during the dinner hour on Monday read “Closed: Sorry for the inconvenience.”
Bucks website now is nothing but a notice saying it is closed. There’s no date on the notice, though.
It reads: “To the TRUE patrons and employees from Wichita and abroad who were a part of Bucks, I am sorry to say Bucks has closed its doors for the last time. I truly enjoyed your presence at Bucks and hope to see and converse with you elsewhere.”
Chris Schroeder originally opened in early 2015 in the space, which had been home to a revolving door of businesses including Cleats Sports Bar & Grill and Shenanigans. The business closed in November, after six months in business, but reopened a month later. Several readers had written me during Buck’s tenure to rave about its bar food.
Bucks replaced Cleats Sports Bar & Grill, which also had a short-lived existence. Shenanigans was in the space before that.
