New doughnut shop opened Monday on West Street

Angkor Donuts opened earlier this week at 460 N. West St.

The shop, which specializes in doughnuts plus breakfast sandwiches, burritos and more, will be open from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

It’s owned by Steven Chhang, who also has a doughnut shop in Arkansas. The Wichita store is named after a Cambodian temple and is inside an old Taco Tico building that’s been painted bright red. (The landscaping could still use some work.)

A sign outside says that customers can get free samples.
