This Sunday, July 26, is the monthly Food Trucks at the Fountain meet up, and the long list of participants has once again revealed a new Wichita food truck.
RT’s Hog Pit is a new barbecue food truck that opened earlier this month. It’s owned by Ron and Teena Widener, who are operating it out of an old bread truck painted bright green. The couple, both seasoned cooks and caterers, usually operate the truck on the weekends and generally are parked at Meyer’s Tires at 5640 S. Broadway for dinner on Friday and for lunch and dinner on Saturday. (This Friday, they won’t be at Meyer’s, though. They’ll be serving lunch from 11 a.m. to noon at Evan’s Construction at 9801 W. York St., near Norman and McArthur. They’ll also participate in their first Food Trucks at the Fountain on Sunday.
The menu includes pulled pork, hot links, sausages and other barbecue favorites. People can keep track of the food truck’s whereabouts by searching RT’s Hog Pit on Facebook or reach the owners by calling 316-409-3514.
