Here are 10 fun things to do that are mostly free. Eight of the top 10 things to do these weekend have a zero-buck admission charge.

Friday night, various venues across town

Tonight is Final Friday, the monthly city-wide art gallery crawl. It’s always a fun night, whether you’re a Final Friday newbie or whether you’ve been a hundred times. This Final Friday, I’d recommend checking out Harvester Arts’ late-night light art show, Demo Skate Shop and Reuben Saunders Gallery. For a full listing of what’s going on where, click here.

FREE: Women’s Equality Day celebrations

This Saturday is Women’s Equality Day, and a bunch of female-owned Wichita businesses are teaming up to celebrate the occasion. The day will start with a gathering at Aero Plains Brewing and will continue with an afternoon of fun, connected by Wichita’s Q-Line trolley. Pedalfest

6 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Sat., Heartspring, 8700 E. 29th St. North

Want to get in a fun workout Saturday morning while raising money for Heartspring? This is just the thing for you. Bring your bike (or better yet, ride it) to Heartspring to participate in Pedalfest. There will be routes for cyclists of all levels, and a celebration afterward with lunch, drinks, music and other activities.

FREE: 2017 Applejack Outdoor Market

9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sat., Applejack Pumpkin Patch, 10007 SW Indianola Road, Augusta

This is bound to be a popular event. The annual Applejack Outdoor Market features shopping for homemade, handmade, unique and antique items. Get that one-of-a-kind gift all while shopping outdoors. The weather is shaping up to be pretty nice for it Saturday as well.

FREE: Mini Used Book Sale

10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sat., Wichita Art Museum, 1400 W. Museum Blvd.

Why not spend your Saturday morning beefing up your book collection? Bookworms rejoice: The Friends of the Wichita Art Museum is hosting a “mini used book sale” this weekend, full of nifty books that were no longer needed by their former owners. Grab a book and give it the love it needs.

FREE: Central Standard Brewing anniversary

noon-11 p.m. Sat., Central Standard Brewing, 156 S. Greenwood

This Saturday, Central Standard Brewing is celebrating its second anniversary with a whole lot of beers on tap, as well as live music. As per usual, there will be food trucks, games, giveaways and other fun things to do. It will likely be the biggest party of the weekend. Project H, Dustin Abuckle & The Damnations, Nathan Williams Quintet and Ryan Wyndham will perform.

FREE: Hawaiian Night at the Pop-Up Beach

5-8 p.m. Sat., ICT Pop-Up Urban Park, 121 E. Douglas

All summer long, the Pop-Up Park has had a giant pile of sand taking up about a quarter of its square footage. To celebrate this rare occasion – having a “beach” in downtown – Downtown Wichita is hosting a “Hawaiian Night” event on Saturday, featuring limbo, pineapple-eating contests and a “tackiest tourist” costume contest. Funky Monkey Munchies, Lynn’s Curbside Cookout and Big Chill Ice Cream.

FREE: Historic Dunbar Theatre’s End of Summer Bash

5-8 p.m. Sat., Dunbar Theatre, 1007 N. Cleveland

The Historic Dunbar Theatre hosts an end-of-summer event every summer, but this summer might just be the best time to check this party out. Just this week, officials at the city and at the theater announced plans to have a renovated theater in operation by 2020. This could be a good chance to see this once-shuttered historic theater for yourself and consider making a donation to the cause. There will be live bands and dance performers, as well as refreshments available for purchase.

FREE: ‘The Help’ screening in Gallery Alley

7:30 p.m. Sat., Gallery Alley, 616 E. Douglas

In honor of Women’s Equality Day, the monthly Movie in the Alley event in Gallery Alley will feature a screening of “The Help.” The screening is free, though guests are encouraged to bring chairs and a potential donation. The event is sponsored by J. Andrew, Liv+work and, this month, by Allied Health Career Training.

Hip Hop 4 Homework

9 p.m. Sat., Rock Island Live, 101 N. Rock Island

If you feel like partying on Saturday night, but also want to help out schoolkids in need, this is the event for you. Rock Island Live is hosting Hip Hop 4 Homework, a fundraiser featuring music from DJ Gabby G and DJ Loco. Admission is $10 and a school-supply item. Supplies will be donated to Gammon Elementary, Dean Ray Stucky Middle School and other USD 259 schools.
