“Casino Royale” is the name and James Bond is the theme of the Chairmen’s Opera Ball on Saturday evening to benefit the Wichita Grand Opera. Attendees of the event starting at 6 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Grand Ballroom are asked to dress as a favorite Bond character – or at least to be dressed to kill. Festivities will include a martini hour, dinner, silent and live auctions, a mystery guest and dancing to the Double-O-Sevens Big Band. Tickets are $200. Classical guitar at WAM
Russian classical guitarist Dimitri Illarionov will perform at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wichita Art Museum. Illarionov has won more than 20 guitar competitions around the world and performs solo and with symphonies and chamber orchestras internationally. He last performed in Wichita in 2008. Chamber Music at the Barn
Mozart’s clarinet quintet is among the pieces being performed this weekend at Chamber Music at the Barn. The opening weekend of the 2015 season at Prairie Pines also includes pieces by Bela Bartok, Ralph Vaughan Williams and Charles Martin Loeffler.
