‘A Dancing Garden,’ talk on Maj. Gen. Sedgwick, Bonhoeffer’s drama
‘A Dancing Garden’
Ballet, tap and theater dance pieces will tell the story of “A Dancing Garden,” a free recital to be performed this weekend by Rogers Ballet students and Friends University ballet majors. The storyline winding through the dances is of a dandelion who wants to take her place in a beautiful garden, while characters such as the tiger lily, frogs, fairies, be-bop bees, bubbling fountains and wind chimes dance in. Ballet majors Victoria Lauder and Maylon Tibbets will dance the Bluebird Pas de Deux and variations from “The Sleeping Beauty,” while young dancers take part in the Lady Bug Ballet. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday, May 17in Sebits Auditorium on the Friends campus.
