Families can go on spider hunt at Great Plains Nature Center
Visitors can see tarantulas and learn about spiders before heading out on a hunt for wolf spiders on Saturday at the Great Plains Nature Center.
The free event, called “Spiders: Eight-Legged Gems of the Plains,” will take place just before and after dark, from 8 to about 10 p.m., at the center at 6232 E. 29th St. North. A McPherson College biology professor, Dustin Wilgers, will give an introduction to spiders, and attendees can see and even handle the spiders he brings before everyone will head out to collect spiders after sunset.
It’s open to all ages.
