Fit for LIFExpo
The Prairie Fire Marathon is Sunday, and the Fit for LIFExpo at Century II on Saturday is where participants will pick up their packets. The expo is also open to the public, who, along with the marathoners, can check out health and fitness vendors. It will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in Exhibition Hall, and admission is free. (The marathon’s walks and runs all set out from 455 S. Wichita; the marathon and half-marathon start at 7:30 a.m. Sunday.)
Old 54 Market
Makers of handmade crafts items and local vendors selling funky junk, yard art, jewelry and many other kinds of homemade items will be set up on a homestead seven miles east of Augusta for the Old 54 Market on Saturday. The market is held twice a year at 508 SW 100th St. (turn off of U.S. 54 onto Seventh Avenue). The fall market on Saturday will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free. Sketch comedy
SOS: Sketch on Stage is a new sketch comedy series that will put audience members on stage with the comedians. The first show happens at 8 p.m. Friday at the Orpheum Theatre, 200 N. Broadway. The show will feature comedians Janet Davis, Paul Bolton, Travis Cagle and more, and the audience will hear their bits on topics ranging from dermatologists to diet soda drinks.
