Moreland & Arbuckle downtown street party
The Carnegie Library Centennial Concert series, which has offered several weeks worth of lunchtime concerts at Heritage Square downtown, will end on Friday with an evening performance by Wichita-based roots rock band Moreland & Arbuckle. The concert is from 5 to 7 p.m. and will take place on the steps of the Carnegie Library. Main Street in front of the library will be closed for people to gather. The event will include a cash bar, and people should bring lawn chairs and blankets. Admission is free.
Zombie takeover at Exploration Place
Exploration Place is for adults, too – especially at Halloween. This weekend, it will put on its third annual Museum of the Undead event, an adults-only party that will include zombies, zombie dissections, zombie marshmallow fights and food and drink. The event is from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday and Oct. 9 and will offer food from Two Brothers BBQ and a cash bar. The parties are for ages 21 and over. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 for members, $25 for non-members the day of the event. A ticket includes one drink ticket and access to all museum exhibits. For tickets, visit http://exploration.org or call 316-660-0620.
