Some tickets available for rides down 1,000-foot water slide on Fourth of July
Tickets for a ride down the massive Fourth of July water slide in downtown Wichita are on sale now. “Slide the City” will set up its 1,000-foot vinyl waterway across the Lewis Street Bridge as a part of the Independence Day Block Party.
Tickets purchased in advance are $25 for a single ride and $40 for a triple ride between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Unlimited ride tickets are sold out. Tickets will be available on-site the day of the event for $5 more. Go to slidethecity.com to register.
The slide is part of an all-day Independence Day Block Party, put on by the nonprofit Wichita Parks Foundation. Events start at 11 a.m. with a Free Activity Zone in the south Lawrence-Dumont Stadium parking lot and ends with fireworks at 10 p.m. Go to http://wichitaparksfoundation.org/ for more information.
