Alabama joins list of 2025 football offers for Derby high school tight end Da’Saahn Brame

Derby tight end Da’Saahn Brame is quickly becoming one of the nation’s most sought-after high school football players in the country for the class of 2025.

The list of suitors has been growing since the spring when prestigious programs such as Michigan, Penn State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee and Wisconsin offered him a scholarship. Alabama joined with an offer on Monday, followed by an offer from Texas A&M on Tuesday.

That makes close to 30 Division I programs, including both in-state teams Kansas State and Kansas, in pursuit of Brame, a 6-foot-6, 235-pound tight end who is rated as a four-star prospect by 247Sports and the No. 191 national recruit in the class of 2025.

After battling injuries his first two years in high school, Brame has flashed his immense potential in his junior season at Derby. In the Panthers’ 7-1 start to the season, Brame has caught 27 passes for 604 yards and nine touchdowns. Derby once again figures to be a title contender in the Class 6A playoffs, which begin Friday when Derby hosts Topeka.

Brame has a strong connection to K-State, as both of his parents were former Division I athletes for the Wildcats. His father, DaVon, was a defensive end for KSU from 1997-2000, while his mother, Nicky, was a star player on the K-State women’s basketball team from 1996-2000.

Derby coach Brandon Clark, who was also a football player for the Wildcats from 1998-01, has been good friends with Brame’s parents from their days in Manhattan together. After Monday’s offer, he joked that he has had Da’Saahn pegged as a premier tight end talent since birth.

“I told his parents when he was in diapers that someday he would be offered as a tight end by Alabama, so I guess I was right,” Clark texted The Eagle. “Da’Saahn is the ultimate team player. His teammates love him and he loves them back. He is a tremendous blocker, route runner and has great hands. He is the total package at the tight end position whenyou take his size, speed and strenght into consideration. Knowing how hard Da’Saahn works, he is only going to get better too.”
