VK Student Section Power Ranks: Last week of the regular season brings new No. 1
1. Andover Central Jaguars
Tailgating 6.5 hours before kickoff is NFL-type commitment, simply outstanding.
2. Andover Trojans
Andover brought an inflatable 30 minutes across town and sang Christmas carols two months before Christmas.
3. Goddard Lions
Goddard took classic rock songs and turned them into chants against Andover. That’s an effective theme.
4. Derby Panthers
Derby rang out chants like, “One, two, three, four, undefeated no more,” and “This is 6A,” as they downed previously undefeated 5A power Maize.
5. Maize Eagles
Maize was on the wrong end of Week 8’s best game, but they brought it in the stands all game.
6. Kapaun Crusaders
This is the first dunk contest I have seen in the stands of a football game, and they did it on the road.
7. Campus Colts
Campus did double duty with football and hosting a regional semifinal soccer game Tuesday.
8. Bishop Carroll Golden Eagles
Carroll has been up and down in the rankings this year, but the Eagles showed out for senior night.
9. Trinity Academy Knights
Trinity has been waiting for a win in 2018, and the student section was finally treated to one in Week 8.
10. Valley Center Hornets
Valley Center came out on the wrong end of a tight game with Eisenhower, but the section was loud.
