Introducing the 2026 Wichita Eagle high school girls wrestling All-Metro team

Star power was everywhere on the mat this season and the proof can be found on The Eagle’s 2026 All-Metro girls wrestling team.

This year’s team honors some of the best high school wrestlers in Kansas, recognizing the top performers from Sedgwick, Butler and Harvey counties after a standout season that was punctuated by strong postseason runs and state-tournament success.

The All-Metro squad is selected based on season-long achievement with an emphasis on state results, and it also includes a coach of the year who helped lead one of the area’s top programs.

Leading the way is Derby freshman Presley Beard, who was named The Wichita Eagle’s All-Metro Girls Wrestler of the Year after a perfect season that ended with a state championship.

2026 Wichita Eagle All-Metro Girls Wrestling team

Presley Beard, Derby freshman

After a season spent proving she was the best at 120 pounds, Beard left no doubt at the state tournament. The top-ranked 6A wrestler in Kansas capped a perfect 32-0 season by winning the state title at 120, securing her first Kansas championship after drawing national attention all winter for her dominance on the mat.

Ryah Bristol, Newton sophomore

Bristol put together one of the best seasons in Class 5A at 140 pounds, finishing as the state runner-up with a 31-5 record. After placing fourth at state last season, Bristol took a major step forward this winter and established herself as one of the top-ranked wrestlers in Kansas in her weight class all season.

Brooklyn Burling, Campus junior

Burling capped another strong season with a third-place finish in Class 6A at 235 pounds, posting a 37-4 record. After taking fourth at state last year, she returned to the podium again this winter for her second straight top-four finish.

Hailey Estrada, Kapaun Mt. Carmel freshman

Estrada announced herself immediately as one of Kansas’ rising stars, winning the Class 5A state title at 105 pounds in her first high school season. She capped a 38-5 campaign by knocking off the defending state champion to claim her crown.

Elayna Evans, Campus junior

Evans completed one of the most impressive turnarounds in Kansas this season, storming to the Class 6A state title at 190 pounds with a perfect 35-0 record. After finishing off the podium a year ago, Evans made a meteoric rise to the top and emerged as arguably the most improved wrestler in the state.

Bella Green, Kapaun Mt. Carmel senior

Green capped another standout season by reaching the Class 5A state finals at 145 pounds, finishing as the state runner-up with a 33-5 record. One of the top-ranked wrestlers in Kansas at her weight all season, Green closed her career with back-to-back runner-up finishes at the state tournament.

Alayah Losey, Maize freshman

Losey made an immediate impact in her first high school season, finishing fourth in Class 6A at 110 pounds with a 35-4 record. One of the top-ranked wrestlers in Kansas at her weight all season, Losey quickly established herself as one of the standout freshmen in the state.

Krislynn Martinez, Maize South sophomore

Martinez cemented herself as one of the state’s best by winning her second straight Class 5A state title at 100 pounds, finishing the season with a 39-2 record. Ranked among the top wrestlers in Kansas at her weight all winter, Martinez successfully defended the crown she first won last season.

Reagan Neal, Bluestem sophomore

Neal completed her rise to the top of the podium this season, winning the Class 3-1A state title at 110 pounds to cap a 41-4 record. After finishing as the state runner-up at 105 last year, Neal took the final step this winter and claimed her championship.

Courtney Nye, Kapaun Mt. Carmel senior

Nye continued her reign at 125 pounds by winning her second straight Class 5A state title, capping a 39-2 season with another championship. Ranked among the top wrestlers in Kansas at her weight all season, Nye successfully defended the crown she also won last year.

Maray Rogers, Northwest junior

Rogers capped another standout season with a third-place finish in Class 6A at 190 pounds, closing with a 41-9 record. One of the top-ranked wrestlers in Kansas at her weight all season, Rogers earned her second straight third-place finish at the state tournament.

Chloe Spears, Derby senior

Spears capped another strong season with a fourth-place finish in Class 6A at 170 pounds, closing with a 39-8 record. One of the top-ranked wrestlers in Kansas at her weight all season, Spears secured her second straight fourth-place finish at the state tournament.

Brookelyn Treaster, Newton junior

Treaster followed up her state championship season with another trip to the Class 5A finals at 105 pounds, finishing as the state runner-up with a 30-5 record. One of the top-ranked wrestlers in Kansas at her weight all season, Treaster closed her career with a third straight top-three finish at state after winning the title last year and taking third as a freshman.

Alexis Wall, Circle junior

Wall added another standout chapter to her career by finishing third in Class 4A at 115 pounds, capping a 28-1 season. One of the top-ranked wrestlers in Kansas at her weight all winter, Wall continued her run of state success after winning a Class 4-1A title as a freshman and finishing as the 4A runner-up last season.

Scarlett Yeager, Maize freshman

Yeager delivered an outstanding debut season in high school, finishing as the Class 6A state runner-up at 140 pounds with a 45-3 record. One of the top-ranked wrestlers in Kansas at her weight all season, Yeager quickly emerged as one of the top freshmen in the area.

Tommy Edgmon, Newton coach

Newton turned in another strong season on the mat, finishing fifth at the Class 5A state tournament with 104.5 team points under coach Edgmon and assistant Matt Treaster. The Railers were powered all season by standout wrestlers Brookelyn Treaster, Ryan Bristol, Avery Hinojos, Jaeann James, Madyson Gomez and De’ja Giles.
