Introducing the Wichita Eagle All-Metro girls golf team for 2025 season

The Wichita area featured some of the top high school girls golfers in Kansas this season, and that star power is highlighted on The Wichita Eagle’s 2025 All-Metro girls golf team.

The All-Metro squad features the top six golfers, as well as a Coach of the Year, from teams in Sedgwick, Butler and Harvey counties. Selections are based on a heavy emphasis on postseason finishes.

After winning the Class 5A individual championship, Andover senior Regan Dusenbery was named the Girls Golfer of the Year.

Mary Bina, Bishop Carroll senior

A steady performer all season, Bina capped her senior year with a ninth-place finish at the Class 5A state tournament and a regional championship victory. The first-time All-Metro selection posted a 79.5 scoring average and helped lead Bishop Carroll to another strong postseason showing.

Reese Christenson, Kapaun Mt. Carmel freshman

Christenson made an instant impact in her debut season, finishing eighth at the Class 5A state tournament to help Kapaun capture its sixth straight team title. The freshman, who also placed top-three at both league and regional tournaments, earned her first All-Metro nod with an 80.0 scoring average.

Regan Dusenbery, Andover senior

One of the state’s elite golfers, Dusenbery finally broke through to win her first Class 5A individual title after back-to-back runner-up finishes. The Minnesota signee dominated with a 73.7 scoring average — second-best in Kansas — and won the championship by nine strokes in a loaded field. This marks her fourth career All-Metro selection.

Naomi Koontz, Newton junior

Koontz turned in the top scoring average in Kansas this season at 72.3 and continued her consistency with a third-place finish at the Class 5A state tournament. The three-time All-Metro pick also finished runner-up at regionals, solidifying her place among the state’s most dependable competitors.

Alina Lam, Wichita Southeast junior

The City League champion, Lam recorded a 74.7 scoring average and finished fourth at the Class 6A state tournament with a 36-hole total of 152. The three-time All-Metro selection captured the league championship and continued to raise the standard for Wichita public school golf.

Mena Sarinana, Kapaun Mt. Carmel junior

A model of consistency for the state’s top program, Sarinana was the Class 5A state runner-up after winning individual gold medals her first two years. The three-time All-Metro pick posted a 77.0 average and added another regional championship to her decorated resume.

Ryan Harshaw, Andover coach

Harshaw guided Andover to one of its finest seasons in program history, highlighted by a runner-up finish at the Class 5A state tournament — the Trojans’ best result since 2018. Behind individual state champion Regan Dusenbery, Andover posted the fifth-best team scoring average in Kansas and received key contributions from Isabel Hawley, Grier Hand, Maren Nelson, Bella Davis and Emily Meyer.
