Introducing the 2024 Wichita Eagle high school boys and girls bowling All-Metro teams

The Wichita area featured some of the best high school bowlers in Kansas this season and that star power is highlighted on The Wichita Eagle’s 2024 All-Metro boys and girls bowling teams.

The All-Metro squad consists of six of the top bowlers and top coach from Sedgwick, Butler and Harvey counties based on season-long performance with an emphasis on the state meet.

After leading Derby to the Class 6A team championship, Evan Clark was named the Boys Bowler of the Year, while Eisenhower senior Olyvia Choura was named the Girls Bowler of the Year after winning the Class 5A individual gold medal. Below are the full All-Metro selections.

2024 Wichita Eagle All-Metro Boys Bowling team

Evan Clark, Derby junior

Bowled a perfect game this season and led the state for top average at 230 pins. Finished the season with a third-place finish and 720 series at the 6A state meet to help lead the Panthers to the team championship.

Jamie Duty, Eisenhower sophomore

A steady presence for the Tigers all season long, Duty finished with a team-high 212 scoring average and rolled a 677 series at the 5A state meet to finish fourth overall.

Tyler Huffman, Derby junior

Among the state’s best with a 227 per-game average, Huffman finished 16th at the 6A state meet with a 653 series. He was a regional champion and notched five different 700 series this season.

Josh Ingram, Wichita Northwest sophomore

The City League champion who rolled a 725 series, Ingram settled for a top-40 finish at the 6A state meet. His per-game average of 223 finished sixth-best in the state.

Connor Jahn, Trinity Academy senior

Jahn helped deliver the first team state championship in Trinity history, leading the team in scoring average for the season at 220. He ended the season strongly with an eighth-place finish and 639 series at the 4-1A state tournament.

Will Winkelbauer, Maize South freshman

One of the top freshmen in the state, Winkelbauer finished top-20 in scoring average at 216. He was a regional champion, then followed it up with a 671 series at the 5A state tournament to notch a seventh-place finish in his state debut.

Brent Cunningham, Derby coach

Derby has a strong claim as the best team in Kansas this season, as the Panthers finished with the state’s top team scoring average topped off with a dominant Class 6A state championship. The team was led by Evan Clark, Tyler Huffman, Michael Stanger, Cash Carns, Dawson Baumgartner and Eli Gibbs.

2024 Wichita Eagle All-Metro Girls Bowling team

Olyvia Choura, Eisenhower senior

Choura exploded at the state meet with a 674 series to win the 5A title by 32 pins, finishing the season with a top-20 scoring average of 194. Her season-best 710 series was the fourth-highest in the state this season and her scoring average of 194 ranked top 15.

Paighton Crumley, Andover Central senior

One of the top bowlers in the state for the duration of her career, Crumely added another state medal to her collection with a 16th-place finish at the 5A state meet. Her 198 scoring average finished fifth-best in the state and top in the area.

Bella Cunningham, Central Christian sophomore

Cunningham saved her best for last, tacking on nearly 60 pins to her season-best series to roll a 609 series at the state meet; she won the inaugural 4-1A championship crown.

Morgan Henning, Derby senior

A consistent presence throughout her senior season, Henning notched her fourth 600 series of the season at the 6A state tournament to take eighth-place overall with a 626 series. Her scoring average of 195 was top 15 in the state.

Tai Level, Wichita Heights junior

Level capped a strong junior campaign with a 654 series, her fifth 600 series of the season, to take fifth overall at the 6A state tournament. Her 197 scoring average finished top 10 in the state.

Kalee Stockstill, Wichita Northwest junior

Stockstill exploded for a career-best 705 series at the 6A state tournament to win individual medalist honors. It was the fifth-best series in the state this season and was a 129-pin improvement over her previous best.

Kenny Fulkerson, Campus coach

After a brief two-year absence, Fulkerson guided Campus to its seventh Class 6A state championship in the last 10 years. The dynasty returned this season on the strength of the team, as the entire Campus lineup could contend for medalist honors in any tournament. The state lineup featured Allie Gentry, McKenzie Goupil, McKenzie Craig, Riley Emerson, Caitlynn Clough and Angelina Moser.
