Reagan Boleski headlines 2021 Wichita Eagle high school girls tennis All-Metro team
The Wichita area featured some of the best high school girls tennis players in Kansas this season and that star power is highlighted on The Wichita Eagle’s 2021 All-Metro girls tennis team.
The All-Metro squad consists of the three top singles players, two top doubles teams and the top coach from Sedgwick, Butler and Harvey counties, based on season-long performance with an emphasis on postseason finishes.
Kapaun Mt. Carmel senior Reagan Boleski, who won the Class 5A singles state championship with a 35-2 season record, was chosen as the All-Metro Player of the Year for girls tennis this season.

2021 Wichita Eagle All-Metro girls tennis team
Reagan Boleski, Kapaun Mt. Carmel senior
Years of patience paid off in an emotional championship season for Boleski, who waited three years behind Clara Whitaker, her former Kapaun teammate and also one of Kansas’ all-time high school greats. But just because Whitaker was gone didn’t mean Boleski had a clear path to the title. She had to go out and earn it, which she did during a 35-2 season that culminated in a three-set win over familiar foe Brynn Steven of Carroll in the Class 5A state championship match. It was an impressive victory by Boleski after dropping the two previous matches to Steven in October and also losing the first set to her in the championship match. After finishing in second place at state, Boleski ended her career on top.
Emma Mantovani, Collegiate junior
Mantovani is now three-for-three in her high school career in reaching the state championship match and now has her second title of her career. The Collegiate junior was dominant in her run to the Class 3-1A title, winning every match at the state tournament in straight sets and only dropping seven games total to conclude a 28-4 season. Not only did Mantovani add to her own title collection, which featured the Class 4A singles title from 2019, but she also helped Collegiate win the team championship for her third straight season.
Brynn Steven, Bishop Carroll sophomore
Just a sophomore, Steven proved to be the only singles player capable of beating Kapaun’s Reagan Boleski this season. The two had six epic battles throughout the season and although Boleski won four of them, including in the Class 5A singles championship, Steven handed her the only two losses of her season. Steven’s two signature wins allowed her to claim City League and regional titles, as she finished the season with a 23-4 record. After finishing fourth in Class 5A singles as a freshman, Steven had a breakthrough win in the state semifinals this season before losing a third-set heartbreaker to Boleski in the championship match.
Lily Conrad (senior) and Ella Graham (senior) Collegiate
Collegiate has pumped out countless state champions over the years under Dave Hawley, but he can count on one hand how many doubles teams have won multiple state titles together. Conrad and Graham etched their name in Collegiate’s illustrious history book by winning their second straight doubles state championship, this time in Class 3-1A after taking the Class 4A title last season. Conrad and Graham finished the season with a 30-2 record, completing a dominant two-year run for the duo. They also helped Collegiate to yet another team state championship.
Maya Chon (junior) and Bryer Geoffroy (freshman), Andover Central
A first-year pairing, Chon and Geoffroy came together for the big tournaments and quickly became one of the best doubles teams in the state. The Andover Central top pairing finished their season together with a 14-2 record, marching all the way to the Class 5A championship match before falling to an undefeated Topeka Seaman duo. On top of an impressive third-place finish at Collegiate’s Tournament of Champions on Sept. 25, Chon and Geoffroy also emerged as doubles champions in the toughest regional in Class 5A.
Steve Alexander, Andover coach
After a one-year change in state qualifying became a road block to Andover’s quest for a team state title last fall, there was no denying the Trojans this season en route to a dominant performance to win the Class 5A team championship. Andover sent all four of its entries to the state semifinals and scored 46 team points, 19 more than second place. It was the fourth team state title in program history and first since the Trojans’ three-peat from 2013-15. And with only two seniors — Sarah Sinclair (third in singles) and Annabelle Tantemsomboon (fourth in doubles) — Andover is set up nicely for even more future success with Molly Gaddis (fourth in singles), the pairing of Brooke Walker and Anna Jittawait (third in doubles) and Hannah Pappademos (fourth in doubles) all back for at least two more seasons.
