It was a good year for tennis in the Wichita area
The U.S. Tennis Association has named Kapaun High freshman Reagan Boleski the Kansas Junior Female Player of the Year and former Winfield coach Brian Shaw, who died of colon and prostate cancer in September, its Kansas High School Coach of the Year.
Shaw was beloved in the Winfield community. He coached the Vikings for 10 years and battled cancer for two months after it was diagnosed in July.
