Kansas Wildlife and Parks Commission to meet one last time this year in Wichita

The Kansas Wildlife and Parks Commission will meet in Wichita for its last public meeting of 2024.

The meeting begins at noon Thursday, Nov. 21, at the Great Plains Nature Center, 6232 E. 29th St. North.

The meeting is open to the public or you can attend via Zoom or phone. You can also watch a livestream of the meeting here.

Items on the agenda include: establishing deer seasons at Fort Riley, Fort Leavenworth and Smoky Hill Air National Guard for 2024-2025; and adding 31 days of elk hunting at Fort Riley.

Discussion topics include: furbearer regulations; antelope and elk season, bag limits and permits; and a review of threatened, endangered and species in need of conservation.
