Evergy sponsors rifle deer hunts for young Kansas hunters
Evergy is taking applications for its annual youth rifle deer hunts, which will be Nov. 29 through Dec. 10.
The event is for Kansas youth with little or no deer hunting experience, according to an Evergy news release.
The hunts will be conducted on Jeffrey Energy Center property during the firearm deer season.
Youth ages 12 to 18 can apply through Nov. 9. Requests for applications should be sent to GreenTeam@evergy.com.
The Green Team is made up of Evergy employees and retired volunteers, and the youth deer hunts are conducted in partnership with the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.
Participants must be accompanied by an adult, the release said. Hunts will take place in the early morning or late afternoon and be conducted from blinds.
